At RecX, our mission is to help people access private land for unforgettable outdoor experiences — safely, respectfully, and responsibly. That's why we've built our Safety & Insurance Program to protect both Landowners and Guests, while keeping landowners in control every step of the way.

Guest ID Verification
RecX supports landowners by helping verify guest identity and ensuring secure, reliable payments for every booking. Our goal is to connect landowners with high-quality guests who respect the effort and care that goes into maintaining private property.
Two-Way Ratings
After every stay or experience, both parties can leave a review. This helps strengthen the RecX community and encourages accountability, professionalism, and great experiences across the platform.
Landowner Acceptance & Approval
Landowners must approve every booking request. That means you stay fully in control of:
- Who comes onto your property
- When they arrive
- What activities take place
- What boundaries and protocols must be followed

Insurance & Indemnification
Indemnification
All RecX guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless RecX and participating landowners as part of our booking process and platform terms.
Landowner Property Damage Coverage
If a landowner experiences damage as a result of hosting a booking, RecX provides up to $10,000 per incident in property damage protection to help reimburse the landowner.
Landowner Liability Guidance
Landowners should always maintain their own liability insurance. However, some policies may not cover for-fee recreation or paid guest activity.
To support responsible hosting, RecX encourages landowners to review their existing policies and explore additional coverage options as needed for their specific property and use case.
RecX Liability Coverage
RecX carries a $1,000,000 specialty liability policy designed to protect RecX and provide an additional layer of coverage should any claim of negligence ever arise.
Requirements & Exclusions
While RecX takes safety seriously and provides meaningful protection, certain coverages may have specific requirements or exclusions depending on the nature of the activity, the property, or insurance provider limitations.
We strongly encourage all landowners to:
- Understand their current insurance policy
- Ask their provider about paid guest activity coverage
- Add supplemental protection when appropriate
